Scott Irving, Venetian Plasterer Edinburgh – a dreamer, a never giver upper and a little bit different. What you see is what you get, an honest transparency which is extended into my work and business ethos.

I served an apprenticeship in plastering and have learnt a wide range of specialty trade skills, from restoration of ornate cornice to plain old skimming. I served an apprenticeship with JohnBird plastering, installing a pride in the work that I do and an honesty and respect for my clients. I worked closely with my father Donald Irving throughout my apprenticeship, eventually going into business together. Every job from the smallest patch repair to the most elaborate ornate ceiling deserves and will always have the same respect, attention to detail and standard of completion.

I have travelled extensively, lived and worked in Europe, Asia, and Australia, gathering inspiration and always learning new skills. I believe in honesty, mutual respect, positive communication and above all a positive and happy approach to life.

These words only paint a small picture of who I am, but I have never pandered to the normal and believe the confines of what we can achieve is limited only by our imagination.

Scotia Venetian produced sample panels with a variety of Venetian Plaster finishes and were hugely helpful in showing us the amazing range of beautiful finishes that are possible. Their workmanship was equally impressive and we are extremely pleased with the finished results. It is one of the things in the house which is remarked upon whenever we have new visitors.
